shop now to save...

hmmmmm.... seems like a lot of my vendors have cut back on customer service reps (most likely to stay in business during these penny pinching times) i am offering up unsolicited advice now: order early. i put in an order for my self that i thought would take a mere 5 days. 10 whopping days later i got my cards. check out my web site for days that i have booked "trunk shows" for lack of a better word. since i carry a lot of my samples in tubs, should i call them tub shows?

cindy m and i will be hosting two faboo shows with stationery, cards, gifties and scout bags in all shapes and sizes later this month. for more details (since i guess you don't really put stuff that is about you on the internet --at least that is what i tell my kids..--will have to email me for details or check out my website www.susanhyrepaperworks.com for more info.

ok what else do you want to know? we dispense great advice at these shows and you can learn all kinds of stuff you may or may not want to know.

more to follow. time to drive the bus! sph

back to school is really cool (for the mom)

entering 21st century.... don't quite understand how this connects to my facebook, which is really email with pictures! regardless, all 5 kiddos are back to school and i am back to work on the mega corporation PAPERWORKS! so many great things coming through the front door via DANA, the sweetest UPS man on the face of the earth! just opened a box of faboo gift labels, notepads and post cards i had totally forgotten i had ordered at the nyc stationery show. these will be gone fast so i am already re-ordering. may have to give some away as gift with purchase for holiday card folks. no gloves this year cause almost all the new cards are digital (yes, 21st century) photo and some of them are REALLY CUTE! the vendors are getting smarter and smarter--now they will take your series of shots and put them together for you on the front. no more graphic artwork needed unless you are the hyres and have 4000 pics of your kids in sports etc... maybe we can all go to church together one sunday and we can take pic there. now that's a twist i would like to see. i can hardly get the big three up ( mimi is the new sleep queen here-rivaling the big two for who can stay in bed the longest!)

ok back to biz. got to update site (AGAIN) and post show dates scheduled. trying to book a few more so i can stop mopping the kitchen floor (kelly schuler will verify) and get out of here! messy office getting cleaned up. SCARY! i may actually find things that are missing. but then again, maybe not. those items are in the big black hole known as FLIN's Room. if you type caps on this are you screaming???? i honestly don't know, but the room is so bad that was a scream.

want cool stuff? www.susanhyrepaperworks.com also dispensing kid advice and cooking tips. have a great day! sph

just back from the midwest visiting elderly parents (indiana and other points along the way...) to boxes of new products for paperworks. sweetpea updates, whitney english new, prints charming photo cards, checkerboard and who knows what else? must get to work unloading it all!

teen angels back in school at gonzaga much to their dismay. teachers giving homework a go-go already! they are not excited about the soda fountain being gone, but i am. if i had to guess it is due to $$$ and the recessionista situation facing everyone. they take their lunch anyway (embarrassing to jack cause we look poor) since i am slapping sandwiches for all. what's two more for the masses? seriously i don't know that it is better than the cafeteria, but i do know that it is a whole heck of a lot less expensive.

ok. back to business. 20% off all orders of holiday cards now thru 9/15. also check out sweet pea for 2-4-1 sale. smart shop, get double, less $$$. need i say more? ok off to laundry. if anyone knows how to get it folded more quickly, bring it on.

Getting Technical

with the help of my 16 year old son (thank god for teen angels that know how to do all this stuff) welcome to my blog about Paperworks (my stationery business), a little about my kids (hence the title 5 man bus driver) and my unrenovated kitchen.

New items are arriving daily at Paperworks and I am glad it's hot out. That makes it easier to stay inside and actually work on my business and not my golf or tennis games. Some of the new vendors I found at the National Stationery Show include: New Hope Soap which has the coolest monogrammed soap I have ever seen. Even a recessionista could feel good about giving this away. Disposable and inexpensive. Catherine (and you know who you are) this would be used and gone before you would have to send it out the door with your fabulous organizational skills.
Also new are BoatmanGeller's melamine plates in faboo designs. Plastic (very good with 5 kiddos) and cute. Dabney Lee's At Home Collection makes the perfect gift for those stuck in their castle's due to high school sports starting, lack of vacation $$$ or heat. Not on my site yet, but teen angel helping to get it there.

Sweet Pea's 2-4-1 sale is on til 9/15! Check it out via my website: http://www.susanhyrepaperworks.com/ by clicking on the lime green Sweet Pea icon at the bottom.

Teen angel needs computer. All for now! sph
